Custom Building Block Figurine from Photo – Personalized Gift
A custom building block figurine turns one ordinary photo into a small, buildable collectible. Send us a picture of one person, a couple, or a much-loved pet, and a dedicated designer rebuilds that image as a Q-version (chibi) brick character — then ships it as loose parts with a manual, so the person receiving it gets to build the gift themselves.
It is the kind of present that fits a birthday, a graduation, a proposal, an anniversary, a wedding, or a quiet desk memorial for a pet. No minimum order: one piece is a complete order.
What It Is, and Who It Is For
This is not a stock brick character with a printed face swapped on. It is a one-to-one custom design: your photo goes to a designer, who drafts the pose, the outfit, the hairstyle, the accessories and the expression as a brick-built figure, and then production follows the approved draft. The result is a figurine that reads instantly as the person in the picture — a likeness carried by silhouette, color and detail rather than by a photographic print.
Standard figurines sit at roughly 12–13 cm tall, a size that works on a shelf, a desk, a bedside table or a studio workstation without taking over the space. Because the parts are molded and assembled by hand, sizes vary slightly between models — expect a production tolerance of about ±1 cm to ±3 cm.
Who orders these:
- Birthday gifts — with an optional birthday-cake accessory printed with the person’s age.
- Graduation gifts — a keepsake of a specific year, uniform or gown, and a specific smile.
- Couple and Valentine gifts — two people in one scene, standing together or framed side by side.
- Wedding gifts — bride and groom in their actual outfits, as a table or reception keepsake.
- Pet memorials — a gentle, small-scale tribute to a companion animal.
- Gift shops and resellers — themed lines (Birthday, Romantic, Pet-memorial, and the Lucky “turning luck” edition) with message cards and gift boxes.
From Your Photo to a Designer Draft
The workflow is deliberately simple, and there is one clear checkpoint where you decide.
- Order and upload. Place the order and send one photo, plus any notes about clothing, accessories, hairstyle or the mood you want.
- 1-on-1 design. A designer draws the figurine draft by hand — expressions, outfit details, small accessories — based on your photo.
- Sample draft for approval (1-3 days). You receive the design draft and approve it, or use your free revision.
- Production (2-10 days after approval). The approved draft goes into production.
- Shipping. Parts, base, cover, manual and tool are packed and sent.
Photo guidance. One clear, frontal, full-body photo works best — unobstructed, no other people blocking the subject. Bright-colored clothing and patterned outfits or accessories reproduce noticeably better than flat dark tones, because color is one of the strongest signals a brick figure can carry. A photo ratio of about 3:2 is recommended.
An honest limitation. Brick parts are geometric, and a figurine is built from a finite set of shapes and colors. Because of the limits of brick parts, a 100% reproduction of the photo is not possible. What our designers deliver is a strongly recognizable Q-version likeness — the person is unmistakably that person — but not a pixel-identical copy. We say this upfront so there are no surprises at unboxing.
Where printing is used — on faces, accessories and the base — it is done professionally for a consistent finish. The base can carry a short printed blessing or message; wording lengths differ by edition, so confirm your exact text when ordering.
Formats, Bases and Display Options
The standard figurine is the core product, but the format range is what makes this work across so many occasions.
| Format | Good for |
|---|---|
| Standing figurine | Single-person portraits, graduation, birthday |
| Sitting figurine | Relaxed poses, desk and shelf display |
| Small-frame standing | Compact, framed presentation |
| Polaroid-style standing (solo or double) | Couple gifts, Valentine, announcement-style keepsakes |
| Easel display | Table-top display with an upright feel |
| Birthday-cake accessory | Topper with the printed age |
| Large pull-out frame (approx. 22.2 × 27.2 cm) | Statement piece, wedding and anniversary gifts |
Every package is built around display. The acrylic base includes a 360° rotating turntable, so the figurine can be turned to face the room or to catch light from a window. A dust-proof glass cover sits over the build to keep it clean on an open shelf. On the upgraded version, the cover is PC — transparent and drop-resistant — shaped as a rounded star, a small design cue that stands for completeness.
Brick parts are made of ABS material, the same family of plastic used in mainstream building sets, chosen for clean edges and stable clutch between pieces. Bases come in acrylic, with some models offering a wood base or a brick-pattern base.
Style collections — cute, Chinese-trend and trendy — let you steer the visual language of the piece without changing the likeness work underneath.
The Assembly Experience
The figurine does not arrive assembled. It arrives as loose brick parts, and that is a feature, not a shortcoming: the build is part of the gift.
- Parts + instruction card + QR-accessible 3D digital manual. Scan the QR code for an interactive 3D guide that shows each step from any angle.
- Part-removal tool included, for correcting a piece that goes in the wrong place.
- About 2 hours for a beginner, on average. No prior brick-building experience is needed.
For a gift, this means the recipient spends an afternoon with the present rather than opening it and setting it down. Some buyers build it first and present it finished; others hand over the box and build it together.
Ordering, Revisions and After-Sales
- MOQ: 1 pc. One figurine is a complete order — no wholesale minimum, no need to buy in bulk.
- One free draft revision before production. Note that the photo cannot be swapped at the revision stage — the revision refines the existing design. Additional revision rounds may carry a small fee.
- Refund stages, stated plainly: full refund before design starts; approximately 50% refund if the design is done but production has not started; non-refundable once production starts, because the item is a one-off made to your photo.
- Missing parts: check the parts against the manual within 10 days of receiving your order, and we will replace missing parts within the after-sales window.
- Optional extras: a greeting card with message-writing service, several gift box styles, and a light-up ambient option on request.
One responsibility sits with you: by submitting a photo or image, you confirm you hold the rights to use it and that it does not infringe anyone’s portrait rights or intellectual property.
