100% Cotton or Breathable Mesh? Choosing the Fabric

Fabric decides how a garment performs on the animal, and it is the first thing to settle before style and printing.

100% cotton is soft, skin-friendly and non-irritating against the coat. It is the natural choice for everyday wear, for animals with sensitive skin, and for autumn and winter pieces where a little warmth matters more than airflow.

Breathable mesh (eyelet) fabric is moisture-wicking, smooth and wrinkle-resistant, and — the detail buyers notice most — it does not hold dog hair. For groomers, photographers and anyone selling into warm climates, a mesh vest comes out of the wash looking the way it went in.

Some styles in our range use Korean hanbok fabric, a structured material used for ethnic and traditional costume pieces. It creases easily and needs a garment steamer before wear, so treat it as a display and occasion fabric rather than an everyday one.

Measuring Your Dog Correctly: Three Numbers That Decide the Fit

Most sizing complaints trace back to a tape measure, not to the pattern. Take three measurements:

• Back length — from between the shoulder blades to the base of the tail. Do not include the head, neck or tail. Garment measurements exclude the collar and hood.
• Chest girth — the widest part of the body, just behind the front legs.
• Neck girth — measured at the base of the neck where the collar sits.

Then build in the allowances, because the finished garment has to be larger than the animal:

• Reserve 1–2 cm when measuring.
• Allow 2–3 cm at the chest.
• Small breeds suit a garment chest girth around 4 cm larger; medium breeds around 8 cm; large breeds 10 cm or more.
• Long-haired dogs may need about 3 cm extra.

Which number you start from depends on construction. For two-leg garments, choose by chest girth first, back length second. For four-leg garments, choose by back length first, chest girth second.

Sizing by Breed and Body Type (XS–8XL)

Weight is a reference only. Always choose by back length and chest girth, which is why the chart below lists both.

Golden retrievers, Labradors, huskies, border collies, Shiba Inus, poodles, bichons, Pomeranians, Samoyeds and similar breeds are well covered, and medium and large breeds are supported up to 8XL. Bulldog and bandog body types are not suitable for these patterns — a broad, deep-chested build needs a different cut, and we will tell you so before you order rather than after.

3. Sampling. Sample time is 1-3 days. You approve the garment, the print placement and the sizing against your own measurements.
4. Production. Production time is 2-10 days after approval, with MOQ 1 pc — so you can validate a design before committing to stock.
5. Repeat orders. Once a pattern and print are approved, reorders for bulk custom pet apparel for resellers run against the same specification.
