Custom Figurine from Photo: Two Production Routes

Hand-sculpted clay route. We start from your photo and provide a free AI preview before you confirm the style. After confirmation, our sculptors hand-build the figure in polymer clay, ultra-light clay, or stone clay, bake it at high temperature to harden, then apply water-based paint details. This route works well for Q-version, cute, and expressive character pieces.

3D-printed route. We send the reference photos to a modeling specialist, create a 3D model, print a white resin model, manually polish to remove layer lines, and hand-paint the surface. Hand painting gives fuller color and more natural transitions than full-color printing. The result is a rigid photosensitive-resin figurine with an internal skeleton.

Likeness & Approval Process

Photo requirements. Provide a clear front-facing photo of the facial features and a full-body photo showing clothing, pose, scene, and props. For complex patterns or very fine accessories, our team will simplify or thicken details so the piece remains durable.

Approval workflow. Before baking or finalizing, we produce the face and facial features for your confirmation and revision. Once confirmed and baked, the face cannot be changed. The body is not shown by default; limited body adjustments are possible after completion, and rework may be charged. This step locks the likeness you approve and helps prevent disputes.

Honest resemblance expectations. Handmade and 3D-printed custom figures are stylized interpretations, not exact replicas. Q-version is a cartoon style, not a realistic wax figure. We focus on facial spirit resemblance and overall character. Buyers should expect color and clothing texture to vary slightly from the photo because clay and paint colors are limited.

Sizes, Styles & Gift Packaging

Height options include 14.4 cm, 16 cm, 18 cm, 22 cm, and 24 cm, all measured including the base; the base is about 0.8 cm. The head is fixed at about 4-5 cm regardless of height, so height differences come from the body. Pure hand production allows a height tolerance of about 1 cm. The 22 cm double-figure size is strongly recommended for couple pieces.

Style versions include Q-version / big-head, cute, near-realistic proportion, and deluxe / presentation versions; some models are available in 1/7 scale. Base color, clothing, pose, and special requests can be customized.

Every piece ships in a gift box with a foam divider and an additional triple-layer outer carton. The gift box fits up to a two-person 22 cm figurine; oversized items may need special packing.

Customization Options

Clothing, pose, base color, blessing text, pennant or flag details, logo engraving, and printed greeting cards can be added according to your artwork. Greeting card content is machine printed; floral patterns may be random.

If you use third-party photos, portrait authorization is the buyer’s responsibility. For very thin props such as glasses, necklaces, and earrings, we will remove or thicken them to ensure they survive production and shipping. Ask for a sample or quote based on your customization list.

Materials & Durability

Polymer clay (such as Sculpey), ultra-light clay, and stone clay are used for hand-sculpted pieces. 3D-printed pieces use solid rigid photosensitive resin with high toughness and dimensional stability. Surface painting uses water-based paints such as Yingli and Vallejo, providing an eco-friendly, low-brush-mark, high-coverage finish, usually matte.

The figure includes an internal skeleton (such as Mont Marte) and a sealing gloss coat (such as PADICO gloss oil). According to the source material, the finished figurine is waterproof, does not fade, and can be kept as a long-term keepsake for about seven years.

Every piece is made to order for a specific customer, so custom figurines are not returnable for resale. We recommend checking the package on delivery; pre-signature shipping damage can generally be repaired or remade, while after-signature accidental damage is handled case by case.
