Custom Race Bibs Printed for Marathons and Event Numbering
Yichi Custom Products is a custom race bib manufacturer based in Zhejiang, China, producing printed race number bibs for marathons, half marathons, 5K and 10K runs, trail and hiking events, triathlons, cycling events, school sports days, corporate wellness runs, orienteering and archery competitions. Every bib is printed to the organiser’s own artwork — participant numbers, names, sponsor logos, QR codes, chip details — and our design team lays it out for you free of charge.
Because MOQ starts at 1 pc, you can order a single sample or a pilot-event batch to check the material and the print before committing to your full run. The same line handles bulk custom race bibs, so nothing about the process changes as the quantity grows. Sample time is 1-3 days and production time is 2-10 days, with rush orders accepted for events on a fixed date.

Choosing the Right Bib Material for Your Event
Tyvek paper is the material we recommend first, and the usual choice for timed events. It is waterproof, tear-resistant and breathable, so it keeps its shape through sweat, rain and a full day on the course, and it takes a printed number, sponsor logos and a chip without trouble. If you are organising a marathon, half marathon or any event with electronic timing, start here.
Adhesive sticker bibs use a peel-and-stick backing, so no pins are needed. They suit organisers who want participants to apply their own bib at registration, or who want to avoid pin holes entirely.
Polyester pongee, oxford fabric and satin are the fabric options. They share the same waterproof, tear-resistant and breathable properties as the paper and sticker materials, and they give a softer hand-feel and a fabric finish that some events prefer for trail and hiking categories, fun runs and school sports days.
If you are not sure which one fits your event, tell us the event type, the expected weather and whether the bib needs to carry a timing chip. Our team will point you to the material that matches — you can reach us through custom printing or directly for a quote.
Customization Options: Size, Colour, Number Format and Security
Race bibs are not a stock item, so most of the specification is yours to set.
Size. The default layout is 18 × 25 cm, with 17 × 25 cm and a 26 cm length variant also available. Custom sizes are produced to your dimensions, and rounded corners can be added on request. Manual measurement tolerance applies, and the final product governs.
Colour. Red-and-white is the standard reference, but the colour scheme is set by you — club colours, event branding or a sponsor’s palette. The front of the bib is printed in full colour and the back in a single colour.
Number format. Numbers can run sequentially from 001-2000 in a typical run, and alphanumeric codes such as A0001 or C5001 are used where a plain number is not enough. Each bib can also carry a participant name alongside the number.
Security and branding. QR code printing, invisible-ink anti-counterfeiting printing and chip / RFID tag application can all be built into the same bib, with the chip position specified by you.
Tell us which of these you need and we will lay them out on a proof for your approval. Start with a quote request.
Variable Data Printing: A Different Number on Every Bib
A race bib is only useful if the number on it matches the runner wearing it, so variable-data printing is at the centre of how these bibs are produced. Each piece is printed individually: number one can read 001 with one participant’s name, number two can read 002 with a different name, and so on through the whole field.
That applies to sequential numbering and to variable participant names printed on the same bib. Where an event needs coded entries — age groups, wave starts or team categories — alphanumeric formats such as A0001 and C5001 are available.
To set this up, send your content in the order it should print: a list or spreadsheet of numbers, names and any codes, plus your logo files and sponsor artwork. Our design team lays it out, applies your colour scheme and size, and returns a proof for confirmation. There is no charge for the layout work.
If your numbering follows an unusual pattern, describe it in your message and we will match it. Send your file through the contact page.
Waterproof and Tear-Resistant Bibs for Race Day Conditions
Race day weather is unpredictable, and a bib that smears or tears ruins registration, timing and finisher photos. Every material we offer — Tyvek paper, adhesive sticker, polyester pongee, oxford and satin — is specified as waterproof, tear-resistant and breathable.
Waterproof matters most. Printed bibs survive a 30-minute soak in water without colour fading, so rain, spilled water at an aid station or a sweaty runner will not turn a number into an unreadable blur. Tear-resistance matters at the finish line, where bibs are grabbed, clipped and pinned. Breathability keeps the bib comfortable against a participant’s chest over a long event.
Safety pins are supplied free of charge with the bibs. If you would rather not use pins at all, the adhesive sticker option attaches directly with its peel-and-stick backing.
Ask us which material suits your course and season — we will advise based on the event, not on guesswork. Get in touch.
Sponsor Logos, QR Codes, Anti-Counterfeiting Ink and Timing Chips
A bib is prime visible space, and it can carry more than a number.
Sponsor logos are printed as part of the same full-colour front layout, so an event can credit its backers on every participant without a second print run. QR code printing lets you send runners to results, registration, a course map or a sponsor page from a single scan.
Invisible-ink anti-counterfeiting printing adds a mark that is not visible under normal viewing but can be checked by organisers, which helps protect entry integrity at larger events where bibs change hands.
For chip and RFID tagging, chip labels are applied to the bib and chip customisation is available, including the chip position specified by you — an important detail when a timing system expects the tag in a particular place on the chest. If your event is timed, tell us the requirement at the quotation stage so it is built into the layout from the start.
Combine any of these with your numbering and colour scheme, and you have one printed bib that handles identification, branding, verification and timing. Send your specification to our team via the contact form.
Ordering Process: Artwork, Proofs and Event Deadlines
The process is built for organisers working to a fixed event date.
- Send your content. Give us your participant numbers and names in sequence, your logo and sponsor files, and your requirements for size, colour, QR code, anti-counterfeiting print or chip position.
- Free artwork layout. Our designers lay the content out on the bib, apply your colour scheme and prepare the variable-data sequence. There is no charge for this step.
- Review and confirm the proof. You check the layout, numbering and logo placement, and we adjust until it is right. Production starts only once you confirm.
- Production and delivery. Sample time is 1-3 days and production time is 2-10 days after confirmation. Rush orders are accepted, so if your event date is close, say so in your first message and we will tell you straight away whether the schedule works.
Ordering a single sample first is a practical way to test the material and print before the full run — MOQ is 1 pc, and bulk event quantities are produced on the same line.
